Billions upon billions of bacteria live within the intestines and are referred to as human intestinal flora. In fact we have more bacterial cells in our body that we have human cells.
Some bacteria are referred to as friendly and others unfriendly. It is the friendly bacteria, which keeps the unfriendly bacteria in check. When you take a course of antibiotics, usually all bacteria, friendly and unfriendly are killed and this is when the balance can become upset.
For example, the body’s natural defence against fungus infections is it’s resident population of friendly bacterial flora, which prevents invasion by foreigners. Yeasts such as Candida Albicans, are impervious to the antibiotics that wipe out bacteria. When friendly and unfriendly bacteria are wiped out by these drugs, the field is left wide open for the yeasts to move in e.g. Yeast infections, thrush etc.
Ultra Blend contains a blend of Bifidobacterium and Bacillus Natto and is designed to replenish the friendly bacteria. It contains human isolate friendly bifidobacterium longum bacteria. It is not cultured through yoghurt, soy or other bacteria.
Ultra Blend is enhanced by the presence of bacillus subtilis which ingests harmful bacteria in the colon. Both bifidobacterium longum and bacillus subtilis stimulate natural enzyme production and activity to improve assimilation of nutrients, maintain a healthy immune function and reduce inflammation in the colon. Ultra Blend helps maintain healthy bowel function
Experience the delicious taste of Ultra Blend for yourself and replenish your friendlies.
- Maintain's a healthy balance of Candida Albicans within the human body.
- Improves intestinal flora and maintains a healthy ph in the digestive tract
- Inhibits the growth of bad bacteria
- Promotes overall digestive health and comfortable digestion
- Supports a healthy immune system
- Reduces occasional gas and other minor digestive issues
- Promotes healthy bowel function
The combination of bifidobacterium longum, lactobacillus acidophilus and bacillus subtilis in Ultra Blend have greater intestinal benefit at lower per gram activity – 1 - 2 billon CFU’s. This is all that is needed.
Bifidus accounts for 90% of friendly flora in the colon and performs more functions than any other bacteria in our cells. Bifidus is also one of the few things we cannot get naturally in our food and as we get older it is the major organism lost in the colon. The most important function of Bifidus, however, is to produce Di Carboxylic acid within the cells. Di Carboxylic acid has been shown to stimulate the immune system to help act against disease causing organisms (viruses, bacteria, fungi and so forth).
Bacillus Natto — is commonly eaten in Japan and China for the purpose of helping to keep the colon healthy and to aid in digestion, absorption and elimination. Kim Erickson MD in her book ‘Healing from the Inside Out’, noted the following benefit of friendly bacteria.
- Contributes to cleaning the intestinal tact and purifying the colon.
- Helps eliminate putrefied substances in the intestines and eliminates constipation
- Helps rid toxic wastes at the cellular level and works to keep the blood clean.
- Assists in the destruction of moulds, fungi, viruses and parasites.
There are over 400 species of bacteria, which inhabit the human gastro-intestinal tract.
Various species of lactobacillus make up the majority of the friendly organisms. The health of the human host is dependent upon the health of these beneficial bacteria, as they play many crucial and indispensable roles in our physiology. The following is a list of some of the more important functions.
Lactobacillus produces a natural antibiotic, which has been shown to be anti-microbial to common, food-borne pathogens.
Produces B2, B3, 1B5, B6, B12, Folic acid, Biotin and improves absorption of calcium.
Creates enzymes, which help to digest food and absorb cooked food mutagens. Improves the nutritional value of food.
Produces hydrogen peroxide, which has an anti-microbial effect on food and environmental borne pathogens.
Protective effect against gastro-intestinal upsets, abdominal pains, constipation and antibiotic induced diarrhoea.
Produces nucleic acids, lactic acid and lactase, the enzyme, which aids in the digestion of lactose.
Has beneficial, lowering effect on serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
Produces a pH of 5.0 or lower, causing inhibitions of pathogenic organisms through unfavourable environment.
Combats growth of camplyobacter pylon, heliobacter pylori and E.Coli and is used in treating intestinal infections, including salmonellosis and shigellosis. Protection is also provided by its ability to combat the colonization of putrefying bacteria in throat, tongue, mouth and further gastro-intestinal tract.
These bacteria potentiate the immune response to environmental insults and risk of infection by increasing phagocytic and lymphocytic activity. The activity of lymphocytes and macrophage functions, such as phagocytosis, lysosomal enzyme activities and colloidal carbon clearance activity is enhanced.
